Serviced Hire vs Dry Hire for Film and TV equipment?
Firstly, a serviced equipment rental will incorporate a Gaffer or Technician. They will come out with the equipment to help install and run it. This reduces liability as we can assure that our technicians will maintain the lighting and camera equipment to a high standard. In contrast, Dry Hiring equipment has a larger liability on the renter as the equipment will be under the care of the hirer. So it’s important to have insurances in place for the hire. This does however, provide a more flexible service that is often much cheaper and affordable to get the tools you need.
